Monsoon

Friday, December 22nd, 2006

Just a couple of weeks ago, we couldn’t get rain if we stripped and danced around a hall of pagan gods.

Nights like this, you learn to be careful of what you wish for.

I’ve seen some torrential weather before, and tonight’s is right up there with the biblical best. The rain isn’t just falling heavily, it’s falling like a blanket of wet cement. It’s definitely monsoon season when motorcyclists have to get off and push their scooters through the flood.

Good night for a cuddle though. Assuming you’re both physically in the same room. Because May is at home, and I’m in the office, and the only reason this is happening is the damn taxi company can’t find an empty cab to pick me up and send me home in this weather. We finally live in the same city after more than 18 months of long distance loving, and we still can’t get cosy time together. Damn this wet weather!
